Let’s make a simple hand made card to say hello. I couldn’t resist showing you one more classic layout design from the retiring Life is Beautiful stamp set.
Yesterday I told you how you can save money and pick stamp sets to get maximum use from them. You can read it here.
The Life is Beautiful is a perfect example of one with a ton of versatility. In fact it was my favourite nature themed stamp set last fall. See why here.
Today’s card is completely different!
Isn’t it great?
What Works So Well With This Card?
- A clean and crisp layout draws the eye to the stamped focal square.
- Lots of dots amp up the fun factor!
- The silver foil, embossing powder and epoxy dots create a pretty shine.
- Stitching on the squares adds more interest than just squares by themselves.
- The colour scheme is a bit unexpected – but so polished.
- A perfectly matching envelope adds the final touch!
Let’s take a closer peek.
A Simple Hand Made Card to Say Hello
The Perfect Layout!
When you make cards, do you follow a layout plan, or a sketch? I usually always do. There are some classic layouts I fall back on over and over again. Like this one.
Because I know I can always get professional looking results!
Like this design with stacked rectangles on the strip of card stock. Classic. And always perfectly in style.
Add some stamping on top of the Merry Merlot strip and the entire card gets pulled together.
This is why I love layouts and sketches so much! It takes lots of the guess work out of making gorgeous cards. That means you get to just play with stamps, dies, paper and ribbon without worrying if the card is going to look pulled together or not!
And now you can take a page out of my own sketch books by becoming a member of my Sketch’n Stamp Club! I have a new sketch starting January 4th you can get in on! Get all the details here!
Life Is Beautiful is Retiring 😢
Don’t you just love the font on this greeting? It was the clincher on me purchasing this set.
Lots of times I sell off my retired inventory. But this one will be staying in my stamping stash even after it retires tomorrow!
Yes! Tomorrow – January 4th, 2021 – this lovely stamp set will no longer be available to purchase! So if you need it in your stash like I did, click the image to get it now!Supplies to Make This Card
