Want to see some awesome paper crafts with Adoring Hearts? The Adoring Hearts bundle that is in the 2024 Spring Mini Catalogue!
If I was a betting gal, I’d bet you’ll fall in love with my latest Behind the Paper: An Interview with a Paper Crafter,’s designs! Let’s get reacquainted with my friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Karen.
Not only did Karen create a couple pretty fancy schmancy Valentine’s cards, she also had fun playing with a pair of treat holders you’re going to salivate over (in a good way of course!).
Paper Crafts with Adoring Hearts
Karen sent me six different designs to feature! It was hard to pick which one to place front and centre for you but I did finally settle on this great Celebrate treat box.
Why this one?
- it really showcases a bundle of different things: the Most Adored DSP, the Adoring Hearts bundle AND the Thoughtful Memories Hybrid embossing folder
- you can see how a simple design with only a couple mixes of pink and red really makes a gorgeous statement
- not only is it a greeting, it’s a 3D treat holder with 5 red foil chocolate hearts tucked inside (see the pic below) which I love!
Now before we find out a little bit more about Karen’s talented inky digits, if this is your first time seeing this post featuring ideas from a fellow crafter, be sure to take a peek at the rest of this series!
An Interview with a Paper Crafter
What’s the most satisfying thing for you about paper crafting?
I love coming up with my own designs for projects. Some work, some don’t but I like the process. It makes me look at some of my supplies differently and how they can work with other products.
What tools do you have that never get put away in your craft space?
Snips, bone folder, adhesives, Take Your Pick tool.
What are your 3 fave colour combinations?
Right now (however this changes often!):
- Misty Moonlight and Pecan Pie
- Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and white
- Moody Mauve, Bubble Bath and white
How do you decide what supplies you will purchase when a new catalogue comes out?
That’s getting more and more difficult as the catalogue selections keep getting better and better!
I’ll usually start out with one suite or collection that really catches my eye that I can envision creating a project with. I like the collections because they usually include DSP, embellishments, etc so you’re getting a lot more product to play with right off the bat.
Then, as time goes on and I see so many incredible samples, my supplies seem to grow and grow.
Are there designs of layouts you tend to make over and over? Which ones are they and why do you repeat them?
I don’t really have specific layouts that I use often. The focal point that I want for my project often determines the design although I will sometimes take elements from other designs and incorporate them.
How has your card making style changed over the years??
I think I’ve become more of a minimalist. I enjoy doing simple, clean cards for the most part but I’m also not opposed to bright, colourful and shiny!!
Doesn’t this design really show the versatility in this bundle?
Here’s where you can see the lovely stamps and the mix of embossed hearts.
You’ll love adding this bundle to your own stash of supplies. Not only is it ideal for Valentine’s, it will become a go-to for your for birthdays, wedding and other celebrations. (Note as of the posting of this blog, this bundle is currently sold out but expected to return soon!)
And when you add on the Thoughtful Moment Hybrid Embossing Folder along with a brayer, the greetings are even more spectacular.
Karen’s a Whiz at Fun Folds!
This last idea is a fabulous example of how Karen likes to play outside the regular card box! Her pop-up gatefold card featuring the free Sale-a-Bration Most Adored Designer Series Paper is beautiful!
Her mix of simple patterns with just two different hearts and a couple embellishments is stunning, isn’t it?!
I’m lucky enough to have received these as gifts from Karen, treats and all! Yum!
Now it’s your turn to chime in and and let Karen know which of her designs is your favourite! Leave me a comment so she can see!

Here are a few different pics to show you even more how her attention to detail shines through in each design.
…and isn’t that little Merci treat holder priceless? The gold foil heart on the inside really finishes off the box!
If you were being particularly eagle eyed, you migh have realized I only showcased 4 of Karen’s 6 designs! 😉
Watch out for the other two coming up in future posts!
