We made another beautifully elegant design in our live this week with clean and simple card making!

You might be surprised with how different but simple, techniques can change how supplies you likely already own appear in these cards.

The Joy of Clean & Simple Cards

What is it about clean and simple cards that make you just feel lighter and calmer?

Is it the minimalist look? Less supplies and more white space?

Perhaps it’s the way the colours pop against the white background?

There are many reasons why we’re drawn to this type of design.

But no matter what appeals the most to you, a beautiful design like this one is quick and easy to make!

Take a peek and see what you think.

Clean and Simple Card Making
Clean and simple cards with the Eucalyptus embossing folder and Sweetly Scripted stamps

Keeping your colours bright white and monochromatic are two excellent ways to craft. Not only will it save, you time, it will always produce amazing designs!

The scripted sentiment is from the new Sweetly Scripted stamp, now available in our Online Store here!

Don’t you love it?

Let’s find out more about the techniques used on this card, which you can see in the video replay.

Soft Colouring with Sponge Daubers

Rather than use your Blending Brush for the colouring, try pulling in your Sponge Daubers.

For more precision.

And while I agree it’s not “perfect” colouring, the airiness you’ll achieve really lends itself to the design of the eucalyptus leaves.

Consider adding additional colours (like in the sample below). Or get some tips for how we added some intensity to the one we made live together.

Heat Embossing Colour on Vellum

We’ve done this one before. In fact, you can see another idea in this card layout you’ll love!

But this time, see the trick I used so you don’t see any of that nasty adhesive behind the vellum.

Monochromatic…or Not?

Picking the Layered Florals embossing folder meant I could use a couple colours on the sample I made in advance.

Just adding that touch of colour to one bloom only really creates a focal point for your card.

Prep these supplies to make your own version of this design.

Cuttin’ It Up!
