In today’s YouTube live we made a cute card they’ll love to open!
Yes, if you’re in the mood for KEY-ute, this card is overflowing!
Although…
…this is a set of dies I’m not sure you would have called “cute” before!
But in addition to all this cuteness, as always I’ve tucked a cool technique into our design too.
So before you skip to the video, can you tell what the technique is?

But you may have actually noticed a couple techniques. How about
- colouring with Stampin’ Blends
- using blending brushes,
- adding some speckle, and
- creating a die cut background!
All of these are perfectly wonderful techniques but it’s the die cut background I focussed on mostly in the video. Be sure to check it out to see my top tips!
Many years ago now (yikes 2017), I shared this same technique. And although it IS the same technique, take a peek at how totally different it looks in how to make simple die cut backgrounds.
Now let’s see more about how to create the cute card!
Cute Card They’ll Love to Open
Here’s the video to watch it being made now.
Did you see the BIG tip I shared about the difference between this card and the sample I made first?
Since you’re going to want to get creating right away, here’s what you need to pull out of your stash to make a great card like today’s design!

Cuttin’ It Up!
- Gorgeous Grape – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″, scrap
- Basic White – 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″, 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap
- Basic White (Thick) – scrap

Now how adorable is our pink and purple turtle?
If you’d like to CASE this card and use the same supplies I did, make a quick click here to pin, print or order the items you need. They’ll ship to you in about 10 days. Thanks so much for selecting me as your Canadian Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
The sample I made featured a totally different stamp set and colour palette! But still a really cheery one for a fun and cute card.
Here it’s the Zany Zoo Bundle come to life with some Parakeet Party. I love the Tahitian Tide in the background of the raccoon.

I always ask in my lives (and I really do want to know!) which card you like the most. Let me know in the comments!
