What cute Christmas tags to make for the holidays!! In this post I’m sharing why DIY Christmas tags are an absolute must this season. And guess what? I’ve got a super-fun video tutorial waiting for you where I’ll show you how to make a seriously cute tag using the Christmas Friends bundle!
Hey there, crafty friends! Are you ready to add a little extra magic to your holiday gift-giving this year? Let’s talk Christmas tags!
Making your own tags isn’t just fun—it’s the perfect way to show your loved ones how much you care. Plus, it’s a great excuse to break out your favourite crafting supplies and let your creativity shine!
Here’s our project! It’s easy, adorable, and so satisfying!

Isn’t this the PERFECT way to send your holiday greetings to those you love?
Why You’ll Love Making Your Own Christmas Tags
They’re Totally Personal
There’s nothing like adding a handmade touch to your gifts. You can make tags that match the wrapping paper, suit the gift’s vibe, or are just plain “so them.” It’s like wrapping your presents in an extra layer of love!
They Make Your Gifts Look Amazing
Let’s face it—a gorgeous tag can make even the simplest wrapping look next-level. Toss one of your handmade tags on a kraft paper-wrapped gift, and BOOM—instant wow factor!
It’s the Perfect Creative Break
The holidays can be busy, so why not carve out a little time to do something fun for yourself? Grab a cup of cocoa, pop on some Christmas tunes, and let the crafting magic happen. It’s a great way to recharge and get into the holiday spirit.
Budget-Friendly Awesomeness
Making your own tags is super affordable, especially if you’ve got a stash of cardstock, ribbon, and embellishments (which I know most of you do!). Plus, you’re using up your scraps instead of tossing them—that’s what I call a win-win!
It’s a Fun Holiday Activity
Tag-making isn’t just for you—get the whole family involved! Kids, friends, partners…anyone can join in the fun. The Christmas Friends bundle is packed with cute critters and festive vibes they’ll all love!
And if your vibe is a little more elegant, give these classy Christmas tags to make a try!
Why You’ll Love This Project!
In the video, I’ll show you how to create a Christmas tag that’s equal parts adorable and easy to make. Here’s the rundown:
- A cool dry embossing technique that gives your tags a pro-level textured look.
- The sweetest owl critter from the Christmas Friends bundle to steal the show.
- Stampin’ Up! watercolour pencils for colouring that’s quick, vibrant, and fun!
It’s simple, it’s customizable (be sure to watch to the end to see the alternative ideas), and it’s sure to make your gifts stand out under the tree.
If you love critters, the Christmas Friends bundle is just adorable! Here’s everything included.

No matter which little animal you decide to colour, your tags will be priceless! Or make a batch of them with each of the images. Make sure you check at the end of the video to see the samples I made.
The other really important die here is the Designer Tags set of dies. It’s currently on Online Exclusives but here’s a peek at the great tag variety and sizes it has!
