My DIY card for pet owners means I’m playing with my favourite new suite from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue! Yippee! This suite was my number one MUST HAVE when I first flipped through the catalogue.
Does that happen to you too? There are just so many fabulous new things your mind is in a bit of overload, but one just pops right out and says “NEED TO HAVE”?
But there was only one problem. This suite wasn’t on the demonstrator pre-order in April so I had to wait! Now, I have to admit something about myself. Patience when it comes to me isn’t really one of my strong points. I have unlimited amounts for friends, family and my customers, but me? Not so much.
But wait I did, and now I have it, I’ve been using it for everything.
It was in my Creative Crafting Live over on my Very Important Papercrafters group this week – which you can catch here. I used it in my Koffee and a Kard class today. I’ll share that design later.
Plus I designed a fun fold card with it for our Stamping Staycation virtual retreat this past weekend – which you can still purchase here!
So of course, now I need to share on my blog so you can also see what fun it is!
Isn’t that just so cute?
I’ve mixed in almost everything from the Playful Pets suite on this card. The only thing I missed were the adorable little trinkets…but I’ll save those for another project!
Here’s everything you get with the suite.
Sweet Suite Supplies I Used
Now at first glance, the price might seem a little steep. But you’re getting super cute paper, adorable stamps with matching dies, ribbon and twine and petite silver trinkets. Not bade when you consider you get 10% off the bundled price.
Did you know you can get everything from a suite with only one item number? This one is 154136. Saves having to put all the codes in separately which I’m all for!
Let’s take a closer look at this adorable card.
DIY Card for Pet Owners
I’ve mixed in stamps and designer series paper images for this darling card. It’s a top fold gatefold card and I’ve added the nested stitched die label for my main focal point.
The super sweet piece of patterned paper is only adhered to the bottom fold of the card.
The mouse is stamped in Basic Gray ink and coloured with my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. Our big mean “Sylvester-ish” cat is one of the multitude of cat (and dog) images on the designer series paper. He was the first one I HAD to use…I love his cartoonish menacing look! He’s added to the front with Stampin’ dimensionals.
Can you see the fun little paws at the top left? There’s a die in the set that cuts those out, three at a time. I cropped those with my die cutting and embossing machine from the piece of Real Red before I glued it down to my black card. (TIP: And when you do cut them out, you get three perfect little hearts you can use anywhere on your card!)
Enjoy is popped up on a couple mini dimensionals over a piece of black glitter ribbon I heated with my heat tool to give it some crunched up “personality”. The little circle is new from the Tasteful Labels dies, which are another MUST HAVE in the new catalogue. See more of these labels here.
It’s Fun Inside Too!
When the card is opened up, this is what you see.
Perfectly coordinated with another stitched nested label die, fun greeting and…
…another character cat cut from the designer series paper. Don’t you love his expression? I think I know a cat just like him!
If you have cat lovers in your life, they will think these cards are priceless! There’s so much personality and fun in one little package!
The Paper is a MUST!
Even if you think the stamp set or trims might not be on your list, if you – or anyone you know – are a dog and cat fan, this paper is E-ssen-TIAL! There’s so many fun patterns and images, you’ll have a hard time deciding which ones to use first.

Have Some Fun Too
Paper crafting should be fun! With a suite like this one, you can’t help but smile when you’re creating. I bet you these critters might even remind you of at least one you know! Maybe even one who keeps you company as you play with your stamps, inks and paper!
I’d love to hear which of these characters is your favourite! The haughty looking one on the inside, or this crafty looking fella just about to take a swipe at the poor unsuspecting mouse?
Whichever one it is, give my DIY card for pet owners a try today!
