I’ll bet you have a dog lover in your life – or you may be one yourself. But you don’t even need to LOVE our furry friends to smile at this adorable fella. And although this little guy doesn’t quite look like my canine buddy, I would sure love to get a greeting like this over the holidays.
The textured Watercolored paper pairs exceptionally well with the Basic Black and Real Red. In fact, my last Keep It Simple Sunday project featured these same bold colours. There are only a few steps to make it too. Before we get to that, take a little closer view.
Ingredients
- Watercolour paper 2 5/8” x 2 5/8”
- Basic Black cardstock 2 3/4” x 2 3/4”
- Real Red cardstock 3” x 6” scored at 3”
Recipe
- Stamp dog image and greeting in Basic Black Archival ink on watercolour square
- Colour hat with Real Red Stampin’ Write marker
- Optional: Scribble Basic Black marker on acrylic block and pick up with Aquapainter to shade under dog’s paws
- Glue watercolour square to Basic Black square then to folded Real Red card
- Attach Black Rhinestone to his nose
Part of this card’s charm is its size…only 3” x 3” so it will tuck in just about anywhere. It would even make a great tag on a Christmas present. Not to mention, it’s very economical. One of these is only 33 cents! Even if you add one of the new 3”x3” Whisper White envelopes, it’s under 60 cents! You’re not going to break the bank on this holiday greeting!
If you don’t already have a Real Red Stampin’ Write marker, you’re in luck! Normally you would need to order the full Brights set (which isn’t really an awful thing if you’re crazy for Stampin’ Up!’s fully coordinated colouring like me!). But right now, you’ll find the Old Olve and Real Red markers are packaged together for your holiday greetings. Bonus!!
Because it’s so simple, I want to show you one that’s just a teeny step up. Add the super glitzy Dazzling Diamonds glitter with your Fine Tip Glue Pen and frame it with a scalloped square. Even though it was cute already, now it’s beyond CUTE!
To make these little cards yourself, you only need a few items.
