I LOVE this fancy Christmas pillow box. And while you might be tempted to pack it with a little handmade gift or treat, it’s also the perfect size for a gift card holder!

Think Inside the Box!
Now you might think I used a template to make this pillow box. But no, that’s way too much work for this busy (frantic? 🤪) time of year!
Instead I carefully pulled apart the polka dot Kraft boxes (from page 172 of the Annual catalogue) and put it back together with the polka dots on the inside. (These really are ideal all-occasion colours but I wasn’t really digging the polka dots for this “nature-inspired” design.)
Here are a few of my favourite parts to this project.
Jo’s Design Elements for a Fancy Christmas Pillow Box
- combine different dies and stamps – I used the All-Around Wreath and Stitched Label dies with the Everything Festive stamps for a fresh take
- achieve a candy cane feel with the diagonal Cherry Cobbler ribbon and the white embossed greeting on Cherry Cobbler paper
- stamp on the box too with the “fern” stamp and emboss with white as well for a coordinated look
- create a snow covered wreath with Puff Paint and your heat tool TIP: you can add the puff paint in layers to get even more dimension like on this version
Over to You Stamper!
Now I’ll bet you have a package of these great pillow boxes somewhere in your stash right? It’s time to rip off that cellophane, grab a couple statement dies and stamps and get busy!
And if you don’t have any, at only $6.75 for 10, you’ll easily beat dollar store gift card holder prices! Grab yours now!Fancy Christmas Pillow Box
How about one other version made with the polka dots facing out? Leave me a comment with which one you like the best. Polka dots?
Or no dots?
