Why not make some funny quarantine handmade cards to celebrate our creativity and our current situation? Stampin’ Up! has just made it easier with their new digital Share Sunshine PDF Download. With 100% of the proceeds directed to two global organizations, we have an opportunity to help vulnerable communities and frontline responders during this unprecedented time.
Let’s see what my first card had to be from the fifteen pages of ideas!
Isn’t it so fun?
Last night on my VIPeeps Live crafting, I shared all the pages of the download designs and asked everyone which one they thought I used first. The very first guess was this exact one! (Hmmmm, is that a good thing 😳?)
COVID-19 Giveback Details
Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of its Making a Difference program it’s offering a product giveback opportunity to support organizations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.
You and your customers can purchase the Share Sunshine PDF Download and Stampin’ Up! will donate 100% of the proceeds to COVID-19 efforts.
The Share Sunshine PDF Download is a digital stamp set that’s packed with both lighthearted and heartfelt sentiments and imagery relevant to the unique COVID-19 and social distancing situation we’re currently experiencing. It also includes many ideas that came from you!
Funny Quarantine Handmade Cards
This card really didn’t take too long to put together seeing as the images were already ready to go!
All I had to do was grab my pdf, download it and print it off onto Regular Whisper White (TIP: my printer did not like the Thick cardstock so just try one page of yours to see if it will work first). It was instantly ready for me to play with!
I could choose from a bunch of different tools to cut out the images and sentiments: my Paper Trimmer, dies and punches.
Jo’s Design Tips
- Use the included colour indicator. Once I decided on my image and sentiments, I looked up what colours Stampin’ Up! had designed it in…Old Olive and Petal Pink, two colours I never would have mixed together! Then I matched my cardstock, designer paper, ribbon and Stampin’ Blends so it all coordinated. Easy peasey!
- Crop with a couple dies for interest. Although I could have cut rectangles with my paper trimmer, instead I used my Layering Circles Dies for the martini itself and one of the Ornate Frames dies for the greetings.
- Add some whimsy with the ribbon and bow. I first added a strip of adhesive in behind the patterned paper and on the top behind the circles and attached my ribbon leaving the right side free. Then I tied a piece of Linen Thread around the end and knotted it in a bow. The last thing I did was add a Mini Glue Dot in behind the knot to hold the ribbon in place.
- Make the Inside minimal. I chose the same Ornate Frames die to crop the second greeting and attached it in a slightly different spot on the inside.
I love the tongue-in-cheek humour of this card and I know just the person who is going to receive it! But if I wanted? I could make another one exactly the same since I can reprint the pdf – or just this one page – as many times as I want!
