Today I want to show you how to colour ribbon with Stampin Blends! Check it out in my super short video.
OK it’s confession time. Are you a – gasp – ribbon user? Do you love all the ways it takes your cards from pretty…to pretty spectacular? I do!
So when I can save some money AND have perfectly coordinated ribbon for my cards? I’m all over it!
Like the ribbon on this pretty fall card.
At first this card didn’t have any ribbon, mainly because I had used up all my Old Olive ones. And I really didn’t want to use Bumblebee or white. And there isn’t any current Pumpkin Pie. So…that left me with only one alternative! Stampin’ Blends to the rescue!
Let me show you in just minutes how you can get exact colour coordination every time with this simple tip!

Besides the ribbon, there are a lot of different techniques here I want to point out in my design.
1.Heat Embossed Resist
The sunflower uses the classy emboss resist technique with Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso ink. See how to do it here.
2. Add Interest With Paper Cuts
Whenever you can add an element of interest easily, why not? The cut out opening is quick to create with two separate pieces of cardstock glued onto the Vanilla card base to create the diagonal line.
Take a peek at this other design featuring a totally different paper cut.
And yes, what about that little stitched flourish? It’s in the pretty Parcels Dies and was just begging to be a border like this! (TIP: you do need to run it multiple times through your die cutting machine to get the repeating image…but it’s worth it!)
3. Layering with Dies
The good news is you don’t need to fussy cut that large sunflower yourself. It gets extra punch by first cutting it out with the matching shaped die.
See my tips for this technique here.
