Today I want to show you how to make a belly band to add a little something extra to your handmade designs!
Has someone mentioned the term “belly band” and you thought it was what happened when you visited the buffet line one too many times? You’ll be happy to know there’s no expanding waistlines here!
Just a super sweet way to fancy up a little gift or a card like this!
The tag with the “sweet as a peach” sentiment is attached to a wrap around piece of the You’re a Peach DSP so it will slip right off the box. In this particular gift, your recipient wouldn’t even need to do this as the opening for the box is on the end .
But if you use a belly band on a card like I did on the sample in the video, you do want it to be able to slide off (and back on) easily.
How to Make a Belly Band
Sit back and hit the triangle button and let me show you how to make a belly band to decorate just about any of your hand made items.
I used this exact tip on this gift box too.
Now let’s take a closer look at today’s pretty band and tag.
Get Peachy with the You’re a Peach Suite
The Sweet as a Peach bundle is fabulous! You can mix and match all kinds of sayings so you get just the right sentiment! For example, I used three different greetings on the tag alone!
And the peach itself is super quick to add. It’s cut out from another sheet of the You’re a Peach DSP. Take a look at all the lovely choices in this set of 12×12 designer paper!
Want to see just a few words I’ve heard to describe this package of designer series paper?
Each card in the box set is made with a different design. Did you see all four of them in the video?
This one you see on top and behind the belly band doesn’t even have a peach on it! So add versatility to that list of adjectives!
Make a Tag for Your Belly Band
Add almost anything you want to the front of your belly band to send a special greeting.
Here I stamped lots of greetings to my Basic White cardstock then zipped it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
These dies are in my stash of must-haves. I used them on this fun layered card too.
Did you see the other ideas I shared in the video for totally different belly band ideas?
