Inspire Your Heart with Art with this Amazing Card Project
Did you know it’s Inspire Your Heart with Art Day? Yup. One whole day dedicated to a celebration of the arts, whatever arts means to you! Dancing, painting, singing, calligraphy.
For us paper crafters, it means a chance to inspire and encourage others with designs we hand deliver or send in the mail to someone who means something to us. To touch another’s heart and mind with a unique and beautiful gift. And we all have that gift and that ability.
Here’s how I’m choosing to celebrate it today.
I love how happy this card is. The bold and bright colours. The contrasts between the pink, green and black. What better way to bring a smile to someone than with this kind of cheeriness? Don’t like it for a birthday? Make one for a “sending you cheer” or “thinking of you”. It will the best mail they get that day!
Let’s take a closer look at the elements I like the best.
Jo’s Design Elements
- The main focal point is offset. If we think about it, which side do we normally see our main focal point on? The right, right? This one is on the left.
- My tulip is punched from a piece of patterned paper so no stamping required! Plus the white pattern melts into the Whisper White swirl label from the Painted Labels dies (aren’t those – pardon the pun – to die for?) . Let’s take a closer peek at all of them.
These dies are probably my current favourite out of the Spring Mini catalogue. Not only are they ideal for cutting the poppies from the Painted Poppies stamps, there are five different elements for labels, tags and embellishments. I know I’ll get tons of use from these dies – and suspect you will too!
OK, let’s continue with design elements…
- The law of 3’s. It’s not something we always notice but there are 3 green elements: the leaves, the embossed strip and one simple little rhinestone got dressed up with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. TOP TIP!: Whenever you want to create balance on a card, think in threes. Believe me it works!
- A solid Basic Black strip anchors the entire design giving it a place to rest.
Like bright a cheery cards? Here’s another idea you might like with the Stitched Lace dies and butterflies.
How Will You Celebrate Inspire Your Heart with Art Day?
We usually don’t need any more reasons to have fun in our craft spaces. 😁 But just in case your stamp supplies haven’t been feeling your love for a bit, pull out a few and make someone’s day today with a creative design.
I used these supplies. You can add them to your own stash by clicking on any of them here.Inspire Your Heart with Art
