Want to make a birthday card for a guy? This one uses stamps you wouldn’t necessarily think of when you’re designing with a guy in mind.

One of the things I hear from you most often is “I need help making cards for guys. There just aren’t a lot of stamps to choose from.”

I hear ya!

There are certainly less masculine themed stamps in our catalogues than there are ones for the gals. But don’t let that stop you!

Rummage through your sets and you just might find a stamp or two in some of them that WILL work for men.

Like the flowery Lovely You set I used today!

Ridiculously Awesome Birthday Card for a Guy

Now, would you give that one to a fella? There’s not really a flower petal to be seen. No yellow, no peach and definitely no pink!

The stamp I chose – from three possibilities in the set – doesn’t scream girly at all!

A Masculine Card Made with a Flower Stamp Set?

What are some of the things we think about for guy cards?

  • How about a clean look with a mix of green and dark teal with a dash of silver?
  • A subtle embossed background like you get with the Tasteful Textile folder?
  • Nary a bow to be seen!
  • A big bold sentiment, with half in nice burly block letters!

When you put it all together, it works!

Key Steps to Make This Card

1.Stamp your sprig in Just Jade on either corner of a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp it several times without re-inking it in your stamp pad to get the variation in colour. Run it through the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

2.Then glue it to a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Pool Party then to the front of a folded 4 1/4″ x 11″ card base.

3.Stamp your greeting in Pretty Peacock on a scrap of Basic White then zip it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the label from the Wild Rose Dies.

4.Punch two sprigs from silver foil paper and glue to the back of the greeting and attach to the front of your card.

5. Add a few Just jade enamel dots for a bit of fun!

Label Dies Can “Make” a Card

One of the colours here is going to be retiring in a month or so. Can you guess which one it is?

Pretty Peacock is a 2019-21 In Color. And since they only stick around for two years, it’s time for it to pack its bags. I am going to miss it for sure.

Look how great this rich dark blue-green looks when you mix it with dark brown and light sand colours.
