If you saw this Jo-TIPS video I showed how to dry emboss a one layer card – now I want to show you how to make a peek through heart card using that technique!
So you already saw one version of this card here.
But would you rather see three versions? Two are one layer only and the third is a stepped-up version with an additional layer.
I couldn’t stop making these cards once I started! And who doesn’t love to get a Valentines card in the mail? These ones will fly through the mail lickety split without extra layers.
It’s official! The Heart Punch Pack duo is awesome!
I know. I’m a certified punch-aholic! So it should be no surprise these new punches were a foregone addition to my first shopping expedition through the new Spring Mini catalogue. They are just so so easy to use!
Make a Peek Through Heart Card
Let’s take a closer look to see how they deserve a spot in your craft room.
Whisper White Peek Through “Spotlight” Heart
It’s really quite a simple design.
All you need to do is punch out the SMALLER heart in the bottom right of your card.
Then just position the scalloped heart punch right over top of the heart and punch out the small edge. TIP: Don’t punch the large one first as it becomes much more difficult to punch the smaller one out. It’s possible using a post-it note, but save yourself that extra hassle! 🤪
The Real Red makes the white heart pop all the more. But it’s not a red scalloped heart. It’s a full 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel attached to the inside back of the card. Add dimensionals to the back of the smaller white heart, close the card and position in the middle of the scalloped heart. Then the Real Red peeks out and frames it beautifully.
Add a little surprise on the inside with a greeting from the Meant to Be stamp set.
A second heart aligned over top with your sentiment will catch his – or her- attention! The final touch is the epoxy heart, coloured with a Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends.
Real Red Peek Through Foil Heart
If you think this card looks familiar, that’s because it is! You saw it here for the first time. The technique is exactly the same as our white one up above. One small change is the heart is punched from a piece of the awesome From the Heart Specialty designer series paper.
Now let’s take a peek at it inside.
A simple greeting also from the Meant to Be set of stamps is all you need to add pizzazz to this card.
Two Panel Peek Through Design
One more option, this time with more panel. Sorry I couldn’t resist! 😋 Well, I did have a piece from my video I needed to use up right?
I love the bold black against the white and red foil heart (yup yet another design from the From the Heart DSP). The small “sent with love” comes from the Itty Bitty Greetings set, chock full of different sentiments for all occasions.
