Let me show you how to make a spooky tree for a handmade Halloween card you can pop in the mail today!

I get the biggest charge out of helping you get the MOST out of your craft supplies. So when I can use a stamp a little differently, I talk a LOT about it in my classes.

This card comes from my recent Kit’n Kanoodle class. What’s a Kit’n Kanoodle class?

FUN Zoom classes where participants get a supplies kit in the mail and use whatever inks and stamps they have on hand! There’s always lots of techniques – this card has 6 different ones – and we have fun chatting! Plus we get to see how everyone used their stash of tools and supplies to create the design! Find out more here.

Since we want to get double and triple the value from our stamps, this tree comes from a set you might not necessarily think of as “Halloween-y”!

Isn’t that a fun spooky scene? I’ve only used two stamp sets here. The Life is Beautiful (for the tress) and everything else from Banner Year.

You already know how much I love love the Life is Beautiful stamp set. You can see my 8 reasons why it’s my favourite right now (and why it deserves a spot in your stamp stash 😉 ) by clicking here.

Jo’s Design Elements

  • stamp the tree only partially onto the right hand side of your main cardstock panel
  • add some oomph to both the tree and the greeting by heat embossing with shiny black embossing powder

Black Embossing Adds a Bit of Pizzazz!
  • plop some perky pumpkins around the base of the tree for a bit colour
  • make your moon by punching out a circle from a sticky note; then place the square note, with the circle cut out and sponge White Craft ink through the circle; add some Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight sponging to add to the spookiness
  • add two small banners to the top right and bottom left of the stitched rectangle before adding your Stampin’ dimensionals and affixing in place

Think Outside the Stamp Case!

Get our your stamps and take a peek at how you can use them a bit differently. Maybe you have an elegant tree like this one that could make up a Halloween themed card too. In other words, think outside the stamp case!!

Here are all the supplies we used. I really appreciate when you shop with me by adding them to your own stash by clicking on them here.
