Hey crafter, let’s see how my latest featured stamper decided to make cards with daisies to share with you! You’ll be pulling out your daisy punches and Daisy Lane stamp set when you see her easy-to-make designs!
What is Behind the Paper: An Interview with a Paper Crafter?
Do you want to hear what gives paper crafters just like you inspiration? What papers, stamps and inks she reaches for the most?
What techniques she likes to play with? Whether she considers herself an artist or not?
I thought you might!
That’s what my monthly series Behind the Paper: An Interview with a Paper Crafter is all about. I’ll introduce you to some of my crafting buds who show us how much fun they can have with one stamps set or bundle they love!
Today I’m welcoming my friend April and her stamp set, Daisy Lane, along with the two Daisy paper punches.
I love how April cut different sizes of her main stamped panel to paper piece this card. Two stamps, multiple stampings, a bit of colour and what a wonderful card to get in the mail!
She’s got the knack! Let’s visit with her a bit.
Make Cards with Daisies
Why did you start paper crafting?
I ENJOY the creative outlet! I send out a LOT of cards to friends and family and I can do that without having to visit a store every time I need a card or gift tag.
What are your favourite tools to craft with?
I LOVE the Stampin’ Up! paper cutter and scorer, the embossing machine and I absolutely love the colour matching cardstock, designer series paper and ink!
Do you like to craft alone or with others?
Alone is best. Because I can curse with no judgement when I make my mistakes and I don’t have to do my hair or makeup! 😳
But I do enjoy the get togethers with a good friend (or two) where we can bounce creative ideas off each other.
Which items do you most like to make?
Cards cards and more cards!! But I will dabble in other paper crafts on special occasions.
How much time do you spend crafting?
I spend as much or as little time as I want given the day and situation. I can lose an entire day making cards, or I can whip up a quick and easy one for a last minute occasion. It helps to have a room or office dedicated to crafting! My best time is anytime I am in the mood! 😋
What advice would you give to someone just starting to paper craft?
Have fun! Don’t take designing a card too seriously. Just let it flow. People love anything homemade that is from the heart, even if it’s not perfect.
April wasn’t sure I should show you this last friend card as it uses the retired Ornate Garden DSP. Aren’t you glad I didn’t listen to her!!?
The shine in that gold foil is just beautiful!
Here’s a closer peek at that stamp set.
Now this last design of April’s is a bit of a show stopper!
The Beauty of the Earth designer series paper is the perfect backdrop for some popup daisies!

Would You Like to See Your Designs Here?
So far in this series, I’ve brought you both beginner and a little more “seasoned” crafters. All have shared beautiful designs with you. Some I’ve known for years and years. And some I’ve only recently met through my website and Facebook.
I would love to feature your designs here too. Contact me at [email protected].
Now, I’d love to let April know which of these designs was your favourite! Leave me a comment!

I always like to ask this question too.
What was your most recent favourite design you made? Why did you like it?
I made a fun fold card that when it’s opened displays a pop-up vase of colourful flowers! I loved the WOW factor from the recipient and watching them open and close it over and over again.
That’s what crafting is all about! The joy we receive when our projects are appreciated! Thank you April!
I hope you enjoyed April’s feature for how to make cards with daisies and the Daisy Lane stamps from Stampin’ Up! Be sure to drop back again soon for my next featured artist!
