VIDEO TUTORIAL for Masculine Handmade Birthday Cards are a BREEZE

In fact, I love this twist fold so much, I’m repeating my design from an earlier post with a link to my video so you can see all the steps. And again, I’ve designed it with the fellas in mind.

But first, how about I tell you about my Product of the Week?

Each week I showcase certain items, and design my projects around those. But there are so many retiring items right now, I figured I’d just lump them all together and share some of my faves with you.

And you know what else I have every week? A Steal of a Deal linked to my Product of the Week! Head on over to my Design with Jo VIPeeps Facebook Group and check it out!

So can you tell which retiring items I used?

If you guessed…

Just so you know, the Rooted in Nature bundle is retiring – well, kinda sorta!

What does that mean?

Even though we WILL see the Rooted in Nature stamps in the new catalogue in a cling stamp version, you won’t see it at 10% off for the dies AND the stamps together. So if it’s calling to you, now’s your chance to save some moola!

OK, here’s a replay of my video so you can see just how easy it is to make this card with your Stampin’ Trimmer and some grand DSP.

Masculine Handmade Birthday Cards with a Cool Fun Fold

Now isn’t that easy? I love how the different designer paper and embellishments give it a totally different feel. And I’ll just bet you have some patterned paper just hanging around begging to be used for a twist fold card like this!

Want a close up on those three awesome leaves?

Two smaller leaves are stamped with Soft Suede. Once on Very Vanilla thick and once on Soft Suede and then die cut with the leaf frame. On the large black leaf, you can see all those cool intricate veins. The Big Shot embossing mats (also retiring) are ideal to get this level of detail.

It’s All in the Details

A few Jo TIPS for easy card making…

  • since the black cord is a bit thicker, attach it to your card with a couple glue dots and then anchor in place with a couple more glue dots on top of the first ones
  • attach your large black leaf with two dimensionals stacked one on top of the other. Or use foam adhesive strips to gain a bit more height.
  • don’t forget to use a piece of your cut DSP to decorate the front of your envelope too. It just completes the packages wonderfully!

Over to You

OK, now it’s your turn! Share your creations over at Design with Jo VIPeeps. Or leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear what tips and tricks you found as you made this card at home.

Everyone, including your fella, his aunt, the grandkids, the newspaper boy and the dog, will want to try and figure out exactly how you made this card.

But let’s keep this a secret just between you and me. Let’s keep’em guessing. Don’t let on just how easy these masculine handmade birthday cards with a cool fun fold REALLY are!
