Painted Seasons Handmade Card
I’m officially tired of winter! So no more snow and no more minus a bajillion degree temps! Plus I’m getting ready for spring with my Product of the Week!
There, now doesn’t that make you feel better?
So the first project this week is a Painted Seasons handmade card. It’s a Level 2 Sale-a-bration gift. This means when you order $120 CDN in product with me, you can get it for free.
Yup, you read that right. Nada. Nil. Zilch-o dollars for this wonderful bundle.
The paper alone is TO – DIE – FOR! But the images are so pretty it’s a must-have for cards like this.
Now I have to admit. These colours are a bit out of my comfort zone. Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover are probably my least favourite of the 2018-20 In Colors. So this card took a bit of doing for me! But I had help.
I matched my flower, leaves and words to the colours in the paper. After all Stampin’ Up! has artists who design these combinations. So they must have a good idea right? Why not use them ALL the time?
Here’s how you can too. The colours are listed on the back of every package of designer paper from Stampin’ Up! So for this Painted Seasons package, you can choose Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Pool Party or Lemon-Lime Twist.
Which ones would you have chosen?

Let’s take a closer peek at my design.
Not two or three, but SIX layers on this card. But it doesn’t look too busy since some of the layers are “barely” there!
- the Early Espresso card base
- a Grapefruit Grove panel embossed with the pretty Tufted embossing folder
- my Stitched Rectangle DSP (which coincidentally was left over from another card I made you can see over on my Facebook Group)
- a second stitched rectangle, this one in Vellum cardstock, stamped with two of the ferns in bright Call Me Clover
- the Part of My Story greeting cropped with the Everyday Label punch
- A fussy cut flower (you can get the Four Seasons framelits now to make it easier!) embellished with a few pearls
The Part of My Story stamp set has been another popular free item during Sale-a-bration. With mixed fonts, brush lettering and some unique greetings, you can probably see why too!
