So black and white with pops of colour. 👍
I’ll bet you might have a circle punch or two hanging around. How about these ones?
- 1 1/2″
- 1 1/4″
- and a 1″
Short on time? 👍👍
So what about that double duty thing?
Quick Cardmaking Zentangle Ideas
I’m talking about using your zentangle pieces of art and turning them into quick card projects. Here’s how I do it.
I tangle my pieces during down time, usually before bedtime. It’s very relaxing and helps me leave the worries of the day behind. Total mindfulness is what it’s all about. Take a 5 minute read here and here to learn more.
Here’s what a couple of my tiles look like.
Lots of times I’ll photocopy my pieces onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I have it ready to use for card making. (And I even took a larger piece and made my envelope out of it for this project too)
Once I have the copies done, when I’m ready I’ll punch out shapes or crop with a Stampin’ Up! framelit to suit my project. (Like the circles on this one.)
The final touch is to add a dash of simple embellishments like rhinestones, coloured pearls or snippets of ribbon or cord. Not too much as the focal point is the tangled art.
So where’s the double duty? Not only am I getting the relaxation of my tangling, I’m getting the raw material for my next card – or two!
Now if you think your tangling skills are a bit rusty but you like the look of this notecard, want another idea?
Take a piece of black and white DSP and punch away! Why not try the Botanical Butterflies DSP, free with a $60 CDN order right now?
I’m particularly thinking about the top right hand design. Wouldn’t that look awesome with Pineapple Punch of Lemon-Lime Twist in behind it? Or maybe the black background one with the little butterflies? Can’t you see that one popping right off the card?
My custom envelope is made a larger piece of zentangled cardstock and my Envelope Punch Board. This size will fit a 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ folded card. It’s almost like a card in a card when it’s put together!
Give It a Try
Now where are your punches and zentangled paper? Let’s see what you can come up with. Here’s everything I used to make mine so you can add anything you might be missing to your order.
