Have you heard the buzz, it’s time for a Stampin Up colour refresh 2023!

And Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be the first to find out, but not until next week!

Now if this is all news to you and you haven’t got any idea what a Stampin Up colour refresh is – and maybe more importantly, what it means for YOU – let me give you some info!

What Are the Current Colours?

Stampin’ Up! has 40 core colours, arranged in four colour collections: Subtles, Brights, Regals and Neutrals plus another 5 Basic colours like Black, White and Vanilla.

These are tried and true every-day colours we can mix and match in so many ways in our paper crafting.  They carry over from year to year and catalogue to catalogue. Here they are:

Each year, we also see five new In Colors that stick around for two years and are then retired.  These colours add to and keep our line fresh and aligned with trends.

Want to know the reason I fell in love with Stampin’ Up! (and really WHY I became a demonstrator)?

It’s how EVERYTHING coordinates. Paper, ink, ribbon, embellishments, markers…you can never go wrong with your colour choices!  And if you’re like me, you have some favourites you use over and over again!

Why change what’s working just fine?

Well there are several reasons.

If we take a peek at home decor first though, who still has a burnt orange shag rug or a black toilet?

Probably not a lot of you.

Popular colour choices are decided by our society, fashion and nature, as well as what’s making news headlines. Global changes, like an epidemic believe it or not, or unrest and wars, will have an impact on colours!

Colour forecasters look at all of these drivers, and more, to determine fresh and on-trend colours.

Stampin’ Up! is exactly the same, The last time we saw a refresh – actually a revamp was in 2018.  Here’s what happened then:

  • 13 colours were retired
  • 6 prior In Colors were added to our core line
  • 10 brand new colours were introduced
  • 53 total colours now became our core colours
  • we saw a complete reshuffle of existing colour families and
  • the development of a Basics family set of three

This means your handmade cards and designs aren’t tired looking or outdated, but always fresh and current.

So what does a Colour Refresh mean for YOU?

Stampin’ Up! will let us demos know next Wednesday afternoon, March 29th what will be changing colour wise.  As soon as I can put together some info for you, I’ll be over on my Facebook Page that afternoon to let you know about what’s staying…and what’s going for good!

Then you’re going to want to make a list of the items you need to replenish in your supplies. You may even want to start doing that now so you’re ready!

Because we’ll see inventory amounts deplete almost immediately for ink pads, ink refills, cardstock, markers and embellishments in all the colours we’ll see making an exit. These will sell out FAST,  like ULTRA FAST!

So be the first in line to get yours if you intend to hang onto your old colours. Because once they’re gone, they’re gone (we haven’t yet seen a retired core colour return to the lineup yet).

What might sell out the quickest?

Here are the items I think might sell out the quickest. Click on any of the names to bring you to my online store to order them:

  1. Ink Pads
  2. Ink Refills
  3. Cardstock
  4. Embellishments
  5. Markers (Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers)
  6. Ribbon

(Note: you can also go directly to my online store to browse around if you like.)

We demos don’t have any insider info. Just like you, we’re all waiting with bated breath to see what’s going to go – and stay!

It’s an exciting – if a little bit nail biting – time!

But now I want to hear from you! Leave me a comment below with what THREE colours you HOPE will be on the chopping block!
