Stamping & embossing Christmas cards this year?  You’re going to love this design by my friend Joanne.  And the BONUS part?  Take off some of the Christmas-y items, and the card works perfectly for pretty much any occasion.  Let’s take a peek.

Stamping & Embossing Christmas Cards

Gorgeous isn’t it?  Elegant black and gold highlighted with touches of crisp white.

She brought this card to my Holiday Open House in September (I always give LOTS of door prize tickets for guests who bring me a hand stamped card.)

She was thinking outside the box when she combined the Half Full stamp set and Broadway Bound birthday designer series paper for a festive greeting.  It works so well mixing it with the rich jewel tones of the wine and bottle.  She coloured those with her blender pen and stamp pads, something I haven’t done in a long time.

Don’t you love her little glitzy bow on the left?  She wrapped the ribbon around the designer paper and glued it to the back.  Then she made a bow and attached it with a glue dot.  Easy peasey, and so perfect.

I LOVE Stamping & Embossing Christmas Cards

Joanne tells us how she came up with such a great card design.

I wanted to make a card for the Open House and the criteria was to use current catalogue product. And I wanted to do Christmas as it was launching the Christmas catalogue.  But I ran into a snag as that was the only set that had any kind of Christmas theme that I own that was in the annual catalogue.  So I went in search of some paper and of course all the Christmas paper was new so I didn’t have any of that, however, I had just got the Broadway bound paper pack and had made some great birthday cards with it and thought it would be a great twist on a Christmas card.  I was very pleased with the outcome and have made a few more to give away for Christmas:).

NOT Your Average Stamping & Embossing Christmas Cards

Stamping & embossing Christmas cards

Joanne went to town stamping and embossing several images.  How many do you see?

  • The wine glasses
  • Wine bottle
  • Both greetings on the front
  • The inside wine glass (yup, she decorated the inside too)

That cute little holly is a separate stamp.  But you know what?  Just take it off the wine glasses and immediately your card becomes a congrats or a bday glass of vino.

Have some friends who might appreciate a wine “flavoured” card?  I’ve got a few up my sleeve (so to speak😅)

How about this one using a neat technique to colour the wine?

Or this one I featured in a Koffee and a Kard class last year?

And I used it this year too for this fun watercolored one.

Now how can you resist such a great stamp set?  One that will see you through these holidays – and well into the New Year with its versatility.  Simply click on the image below and get your own.

I’d love to get your work featured on my Front and Centre Friday too.  And it’s easy to do.  Just send me a handmade card featuring current Stampin’ Up! product.  Tuck in a little sticky note with your inspiration and products too.  That’s it.

Here’s my address: Box 911, Blackfalds, Alberta Canada T0M0J0

Thanks so much to Joanne for sharing her talent with us all.  Keep checking back here each Friday to see many other gifted artists.  It might not be stamping & embossing Christmas cards next time, but I’m sure you’ll love it all the same.
