I absolutely love this sunflower card made with dies and my alcohol markers! Blues and yellows together is my all-time favourite colour combo and here I’ve added in another neutral to give it even more polish.

But I don’t only want to share my top TIPS with you today. There’s also a super special reason for my card today so let’s take a peek at it now.

But why this card is special to me?

These colours were my wedding colours 20 years ago today! We decorated with gorgeous sunflowers, candles, yellow ribbon and blueberry accents with wheat. It was a great day full of fun and joy! Making this card today brings back those memories!

And WOW! 20 years sure goes by in a blink of an eye!

While I normally only play with yellow and blue together like I did on this quick card, also featuring this sunflower, I pulled in a neutral for this one. I think it perfectly ties together the card.

How about I give you my top tips to make this card so you can jump into your craft area and play?

Jo’s TIPS for a Sunflower Card Made with Dies

1.Make a card with a slightly different fold. This easel fold one is scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ and decorated on the front right panel only.

2.Add more texture by embossing the Crumb Cake panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. Just be sure to stamp your words BEFORE you emboss!

3. Make sure to add a raised element to the inside so your card front can ‘lean’ against it and stand up. My second sunflower is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to achieve this.

4.Let your dies do the work! The lovely Ornate Layers creates a yummy border for the bold “So Grateful” focal greeting. With its intricate detail, you really need very little additional embellishment.

5.Colour your sunflowers with Stampin Blends alcohol markers for seamless blending of colour. The flower itself is a mix of Light and Dark Daffoldil and Dark Mango with a Light and Dark Crumb Cake Centre. The leaves are a simple Light and DArk Mossy Meadow.

6. Only add a couple embellishments. The three Gilded Gems are ideal to catch the light!
