Hey card maker, I’ve got lots of sweet adorable owl cards inspiration for you today! If you picked up your free set of these cute birdies, you’ll want to copy these designs for sure!

And if you don’t have one yet, I think you just might fall in love with how my friend and fellow crafter, Janine got busy with this cute stamp set.

While I spent time with my family in Ontario over the Christmas holidays, I asked Janine if she had some time and might like to play with some new Stampin’ Up! things.

I’m so glad she said yes! Because YOU get to see her super cute cards!

While I normally showcase a bundle in my monthly feature, I couldn’t resist sharing her fun cards made with this one set, Adorable Owls.

Let’s take a peek into the crafting life of Janine in my latest episode of Behind the Paper Interview with a Paper Crafter!

An Interview with a Paper Crafter

What’s one thing about paper crafting you had to learn the hard way?

Measure and mark before cutting or scoring (I’m thinking more 3D items or fun folds) especially if you are limited on supplies.

Name the best stamping or crafting tip you’ve learned in the last year.

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper coordinates so well that it will go together on any project and turn out great!

What’s the latest new technique you tried? What was the result?

Stencilling.  It adds a soft background to add images on top of.

Do you have something about paper crafting that irks you?

Red ink that tints my stamps and fingers!

How do you learn new things about paper crafting?

From Jo (Design with Jo!), Facebook, Pinterest.

Can you see even more possibilities?

You know what was funny?!

I had asked Janine to play with a few stamps over the Christmas holidays…and then I played once I got home. We were obviously on the same wavelength since her next card is an awful lot like mine, except I decided to make cute Valentines cards!

Here are a couple final questions for Janine.

If you could only take one tool with you to a deserted paper crafting island, what would it be and why?

My Paper Snips to be able to finely cut ribbon and ‘fussy’ cut if I need to.

Share a compliment someone gave you about your card making.

“I always look forward to your birthday card because I know you spent the extra time to think of me when you made it.”

I know exactly how that person feels. I’ve been lucky enough to receive cards from Janine and I can tell she had me top of mind as she was creating.

And isn’t that the biggest compliment we can turn around and give all those we craft for too? That there’s a tiny piece of us in ever single card we make and give!

I hope you enjoyed Janine’s sweet adorable owl cards – and don’t forget to check back next month to see who our next featured paper crafter will be!
