While it was hard to narrow it down to just ten, I hope this refresh will inspire you to get out your craft supplies and give them a try. Top 10 Card Making Projects in 2024
1. Simple Cards with DSP
These cards were my fave project in all of 2024. They top my list for a number of reasons.
- They’re quick to make.
- You use minimal supplies.
- They suit so many occasions.
- They’re beautiful!

2. Playful Card Making
Isn’t it wonderful when your crafting really becomes play time? I’m all for that with fab DSP and cute greetings and dies.
So why not pretend you’re needing a time out from the holiday excitement and get into your craft space?! See the tips (and video) here.
3. Quick Handmade Winter Card
We often have so much emphasis on Christmas, we forget there are a bunch more winter months (in the northern hemisphere anyway) with card sending opportunities. I love the ease of making this one and it has a slightly different card front you’ll want to copy.

4. Diagonal Background for Card Making
Dots are one of my favourite ways to add decorative effects to cards. And when they’re bold and bright and coordinate with the torn piece of cardstock, they add extra WOW! Add a striking feature by creating a diagonal line from top right to bottom left.

5. Handmade Sympathy Card
When you need to make a card to send thoughts of condolence, this design is perfect. What are some things to think about for a sympathy card?
- soft colours
- flowers as the focal point (leaves work well too)
- simple sentiment
- understated embellishments

6. Kit Ideas
Whenever you can play with layouts (aka sketches), you’ll immediate slash your card making time. I “stole” this layout from the By Your Side Kit then featured the stamp set in these 4 monochromatic designs.

7. Use Scraps for Card Making
What’s the number one thing I hear from you? How to store and use up scraps from all the patterned paper you have.
And I agree, it can start to add up quickly. So in this post, you’ll lear how to mix and match your leftover pieces for an awesome design. But not just ONE card, you’ll make TWO with this idea.

8. What’s the Spotlight Technique?
To add a bit of punch to your cards and spend less time making them, you’ve got to try this technique! What do you need?
- an open line stamp
- some type of colouring tool (like a marker or coloured pencils)
- two punches or dies of the same shape, one slightly bigger than the other

9. Dead Easy Corner Fold Card
If fun fold cards are your thing, try this easy but oh-so-striking one. It’s a front corner fold with great patterned paper o the front (and behind). Although I love intricate fancy folds, it’s always best to have them be easy for your recipient to open and display. This one fits the bill!

10. 3 Panel Card with DSP
I’ve made this design a few times and it’s one that’s always pinned and saved to be made by website visitors. This one features a denim blue colour theme against a crisp Basic White background. The accent of shiny silver really sets it off.
