Have you ever wondered about this question – what is a handmade SIP card?
How about the quickest and easiest way to get a bunch of cards made and in the mail?
Or the way to get maximum mileage from your cardmaking supplies?
Or perhaps the most adorable way to send Christmas wishes this year?
This card probably took about 5 minutes to make. I’m not pulling your leg! Check out the steps below so you can make it too!
What is a Handmade SIP Card?
SIP stands for Stamps, Ink and Paper. And that’s it! So if you have those elements, you are ready to whip up a bunch of SIP cards!
Now there are different levels of SIP cards. Mine is surprisingly NOT the most SIP of SIP cards! 🤗. That’s because I’ve used markers for my colouring on the caps and branch. The most rudimentary SIP card would have only had a black and white image. DONE!
So what makes this card so adorable?
The stamps of course.
This Have a Hoot set was the first one I placed on my Wish List when I saw the holiday catalogue. I knew I had to have it!
How can you resist these cuties? Ten little owls to brighten up this holiday season. But not only the holiday season. I know they’ll be perfect for birthdays and anniversaries when I pair them with other greetings!
Psssst…I’ve got a super cute Hallowe’en card coming up soon I made with them too.
Cuttin’ It Up!
- Thick Whisper White cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Let’s Make It!
1.Stamp owls in middle of folded card front with Memento Black ink.
2. Stamp greeting also in Memento black ink below the branch. TIP: This card is perfect to make in multiple. Use your Stamparatus to set up the stamps for quick and easy stamping.
3. Colour the Santa hats with Real Red Stampin’ Write marker. Colour the branch with Soft Suede Stampin’ Write marker.
And you’re done!
What If You Want to Step It Up a Bit?
You can always add a bit more colour to the owls if you wish.
And you could cut out the owls with the matching Peek-a-Hoot Dies and attach it to a coloured card panel.
You could also add a swipe of two of Wink of Stella or an embellishment like rhinestones or ribbon.
Really the sky’s the limit when it comes to card making. But when you want to keep it simple, or if you’re running out of time, a SIP card is perfect!
Over to You Stamper!
