2018 Annual Catalogue Open House Customer Handmade Cards

I’m excited to share my 2018 Annual Catalogue Open House customer handmade cards.  Besides being able to hand out door prize tickets for bringing and leaving me a handmade card😉,  I love to see how everyone gets busy in their own craft spaces using our suite of products.

You’ll see lots of die cuts, stamping, embossing (dry and heat), embellishments and bold, bright colours.  Isn’t that so perfect for summer?

Let’s take a peek…

Janine had some of our old (new!) Poppy Parade paper and ink just hangin’ around in her stash of goodies!  Aren’t we glad she decided to pull them out for this happy and vibrant two-step stamping card?

Do you know what sets she’s used?  Daisy Delight for the trio of flowers and Timeless Textures for the Sahara Sand background.  How’d she know those are two of my favourites?

Dianne pulled out her Big Shot,  Petals & More thinlits and her Petal Palette stamp set for this pretty pink, black and white design.  Mixing it up with the Stitched Shapes framelits and a piece of that oh-so-lovely Petal Passion designer paper (who else is sad that’s retired?) adds lots of interest.

Cathie created some cool treats for our upcoming hot summer days with the Coffee Cafe set and Coffee Cups framelits.  She’s made a neat background too by embossing her words with clear embossing powder then sponging ink over top for a frosty feel.  Anyone in the mood for a frappucino?

Betty also has some gorgeous bold colour with the old (new) Blackberry Bliss paper, ink and ribbon.  Then she pulled out some of the white embossed designer paper from a couple years back and brayered over it to create a Crumb Cake background.  Just beautiful with the layered detailed butterflies.  I just love this card.

Yvonne has such a sweet card for a young’un – or anyone young at heart.  Bella and her tortoise buddy are set in a whole bouquet of magenta flowers.  The trick to this card is Bella is suspended on a slider so she moves and does backflips!

Eileen’s fun card shows off her Zentangle!  She created a tangle with her black detailed markers on plain white bond paper, then cut them with the detailed flower from last year’s Stylish Stems thinlits.  Next, she overlapped them onto a bright yellow and light pink cardstock.  So effective against a dotted pink patterned paper.

What a great idea Ann had to piece together several die cut fronds to create a perfect rust backdrop for our pretty watercoloured Petal Palette bird.  Set against a stamped Layering Oval die cut and glued onto a dry embossed background, she’s designed a sweet little card for any occasion.

Roxanne played with her Swirly Scribbles thinlits, her markers, punches and her pastels to create a whimsical flower trio.  She swirled on her spots of colour to coordinate with her “wreath” die cuts, then glued them on top and fancied them up with some bling-y rhinestones.

Notice her trio is just a bit off centre to add visual interest.  This would bring a smile to even the most curmudgeonly amongst us, wouldn’t you agree?

So isn’t it FUN to see what everyone’s been up to?  I think it’s so neat to see how different techniques, framelits and stamp sets provide inspiration for you.  And I ALWAYS get inspired too to try something new – or maybe visit an older technique I haven’t tried in awhile.

If you loved these ideas, I know you’ll appreciate the work behind these other super designs created by my friends and customers.  And maybe these ones will get you inspired to get into your craft room too?

Even if you weren’t able to attend this Open House😔, I would love to receive your handmade creations…ANYTIME!  Send one to me at Box 911, Blackfalds, AB T0M0J0.

But you know what?  I’m not done yah-et!  I had such an overwhelming response, I couldn’t share them all in one post.  So make sure you keep your eyes peeled to see which other customer handmade cards I’ve hidden away to share in upcoming Front and Centre Friday blog posts!

Super Customer Cards from My Occasions Open House

I received some super customer cards from my Occasions Open House. I always love seeing the different ideas and cards everyone brings. This time once again, my cards have a little bit of everything…lots of die cuts, glitter, ribbon, embossing, beautiful designer papers, techniques, stamping and colouring. Just like the designs I shared from my fall Open House, you’re going to love them.  Take a peek at just a few…

Leslie created a beautifully simple and elegant card. One stamp from the retired Reverse Words stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with copper embossing powder is offset with three brads and carries the entire card.  (Anyone remember brads?  We all probably have TONS in our stash.  Let’s use ’em up!)

Matted on a piece of shiny copper, then a Whiper White thick card, it’s super effective.  (Have you tried the Whisper White thick cardstock?  It stands up SOOO much better than the regular cardstock.  I won’t use anything else now.) The inside is stamped with two greetings for a birthday in basic Black archival ink with a strip of the matching copper to add some punch.

Karen’s colourful geometric patterned card is great for anyone, but particularly for a man.  She’s inset the Swirly Scribbles die cut into her front panel for a cool bit of added interest.  This creates a wonderful focal point and is relatively quick to do.

Just die cut your swirl two times, once on your patterned paper panel and again on a coordinating piece of cardstock (in this case gray).  Then glue down your panel to your card (navy here) one piece at a time.  The swirl will fit perfectly!

Lorrie’s ultra sweet card is simple too.  Just some Basic Black ink to stamp the adorable kitten and verse from the Pretty Kitty set.  Then she coloured the stamp with markers and framed the entire card with two strips of Emerald Envy ruched ribbon.  So pretty and very quick to make a fun greeting for a friend.

Eileen pulled out one of the most-loved bundles from last year’s Occasions catalogue – Stylish Stems.  The gorgeous dies and stamps make such a pretty card.  Here Eileen’s created a diagonal card, matting her patterned paper with shiny gold foil paper.  There’s a very subtle design on this patterned paper which coordinates so well with the detailed flower dies.  A beautiful card for a thank you, or what about a wedding or anniversary too?

One of my favourite things is to showcase my customer creations on my Front and Centre Fridays. And I would absolutely love to feature YOUR designs too. My Fabulous 2017 Holiday Open House Customer Cards

Today I want to share some of my fabulous 2017 Holiday Open House customer cards with you. I’m so lucky to have such talented and generous customers and friends. It was amazing to see the diversity of cards and ideas everyone brought. Embossing, die cuts, designer paper…straight up stamping, techniques, 3D and ribbon. Just like the designs I showcased from my summer Open House, everything was represented! Here’s a sampling for you!

Emily (who you would never know is a pretty new stamper), is really enjoying playing with the Coffee Break Suite. Here she beautifully combined the designer series paper with ribbon, a corrugated element and stamping for a fun card any friend would appreciate.

Eileen chose purples and black for her friend card. She’s used a favourite set of mine, Serene Silhouettes which I’ve got in my retired stash too. She livened up her background by stamping the silhouette in black first, then ran it through her embossing folder. The final touches are her three black rhinestones. (And coincidentally Eileen won Stampin’ Up!’s new Black Rhinestones as a door prize!)

Linda is like a magpie with anything Asian. Her lovely Artistically Asian thanks card has lots of layers and beautiful Japanese paper in a mix of cool greens. The shiny gold in the blossom paper really catches the light to make you look twice.

Ann chose an embossed cloud background to add depth and life to her whimsical trio of balloons. To give her card a bit more oomph, she doubled up her baker’s twine and placed a bold black calligraphed greeting to ground the balloons.

Crystal’s bubbly personality certainly comes through in her card. She went for bright colours and the Jar of Love set, combining stamps, punches, Wink of Stella and die cuts for cheery Hello card. Wouldn’t this bring a smile to anyone’s face?

Look at Eileen’s gorgeous – and oh so different – thank you card! The matted ovals are a perfect balance to the half circle card base and the dragonfly punch complements the beautiful Japanese paper so well.

Kim’s Bloomin’ Heart love card is deceptively simple. The heart is die cut three times – once from the square card, once from the matted white stitched layer and a third time in the lovely pink paper. She used tape to affix it to the back of her square mat before setting her edges into the card base and gluing down her square. She completed her card with a cursive “love” die cut and then scattering flowers and pearls for a beautiful finish.

I’m so happy to feature my customers on my Front and Centre Fridays. And I would absolutely love to showcase your projects too. Send me your creations made with Stampin’ Up! product so you can see yours show up here too!

And you know what? These weren’t ALL the great designs I received…bookmark my page and keep checking back for more of my fabulous 2017 Open House customer cards coming your way in future blog posts.
