I just have to share these cute DIY Thanksgiving treat bags with you today. I just love how this one turned out to pop a couple Merci chocolates into for our Thanksgiving table!
I’ve had this Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die for a little bit now, but haven’t pulled it out much.
You know, I’m not sure why, because these are some of the quickest little bags I’ve ever made!
The paper is the Painted Autumn DSP and it has some glorious fall patterns! But, aren’t the hazelnuts adorable? Probably my favourite in the entire 12 designs, although they just edged out a couple others like the sunflowers, pumpkins and the leaves. The colours are gorgeous and the designs are fantastic to cut out for embellishing.

Let’s talk a little about my embellishment.
I chose the new Labels to Love set for my tag in colours to coordinate with the paper and the rest of my bag.
Boy, I’ll tell ya, if you want versatility, this set is for you. It covers practically every occasion – fall, Hallowe’en, Christmas, birthday, Valentine’s…you name it, it’ll do the trick. The new Everyday Label punch fits three of the stamps and there’s a lovely mix of different sizes and fonts for the greetings. I’ve used it over and over again and it will be staying in my stash forever!
I relied on a tried-and-true technique to fancy up the greeting.
I used the brush tip of my Stampin’ Write markers to colour the leaves and words different colours. While lots of times I’m in too much of a rush to do this, it really adds a TON of personality. I’ve got three colours on there: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Old Olive.

Did you see my leaves peeking out?
I’ve been using this new Leaf Punch a TON. It’s a perfect size!
For this one, I coloured the Dazzling Diamonds Early Espresso, just like on the deer for this Christmas card. (PSSSST, there’s a video to show you how too.) While it’s the only bit of bling on the bag, it’s just enough to catch your eye.
And the two tiny nuts are fussy cut from scraps left over after die cutting the bag pieces so there’s very little waste. Here’s where the Mini Dimensionals really came in handy to attach that one over the leaf.
Do you use your stamps to make your own “designer” tissue paper? It’s super quick and easy. I stamped the hazelnuts and the filler dots on a small piece of white so it peeks out the top. I like the way it hid my little treat inside. Next time I might just fold over the top and see how that looks…

How about a final look?
While I had fun embellishing my cute DIY Thanksgiving treat bags with lots of colour and steps, you may find you don’t have that much time.
Well, the fabulous part is you don’t really have to. A little ribbon or banner cardstock or a simple ‘for you’ tag and you’re all set! Then set them out on your dining table and your cute DIY Thanksgiving treat bags will be sure to be a hit!
