It’s time for your first 2024 Christmas card! Whenever I ask my Facebook followers when they start creating for the holiday season, I get lots of different answers.
Some people start right in January and make a few cards every month. Others start in August and September when the newest Christmas supplies are unveiled. And then there’s folks like me. I start about Novermber 30th and just hope I get them done in time to arrive in my friend’s mailboxes before the new year.
How about you? When do YOU start creating for the Christmas season?
No matter when you start, here’s the first Christmas card for this year on my blog. Lots of shiny gold, vanilla and traditional greens for this one. And a simple design!
This pretty design is one you can make quickly with some gorgeous Designer Series Paper and a great label and sentiment set.
You can never go wrong with a bit of glitz and glam with gold foil. And a generic overall image like leaves and berries? Elegant and timeless!
If you haven’t noticed the Greetings of the Season bundle yet, it might be because it’s an Online Exclusive. You won’t find it in any catalogue, just online! And we never know when these will go out of stock.

Your First 2024 Christmas Card
Here are all the measurements, supplies and steps to make one just like it in your craft space today.
Cuttin’ It Up!
- Very Vanilla cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, scraps
- Garden Green cardstock – 5 3/8″ x 4 3/8″
- Season of Green & Gold 12×12 DSP – one piece 5 1/4″ x 2 1/4″, second coordinating piece 5 1/4″ x 1 3/4″, third piece 5 1/4″ x 1/4″ (inside)
- Gold Foil paper – 5 1/4″ x 3/8″
- Very Vanilla 3/4″ Satin Ribbon – about 4″
Let’s Make It!
1. Glue the piece of largest piece of DSP to the bottom of the piece of Garden Green cardstock. Then adhere the 2nd piece of DSP right above it so all the DSP is centred in the middle of the Garden Green. Then glue the piece of Gold foil so it covers up where the two DSP meet. Adhere the entire piece to the front of the folded Very Vanilla card base.
2. Stamp the greeting with Garden Green ink onto a large scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, then cut out a label shape using the Greetings of the Season Dies. Add dimensionals to the back then adhere to the left of the card centred over the top of the gold foil strip.
3. Tie one knot in the satin ribbon and attach to a glue dot then place onto the right side of the label.
4. Add one Pearl Adhesive Backed Berries to the front of the label.
5. For the inside, adhere the remaining strip of DSP to the bottom then stamps (& Happy New Year” in Garden Green ink above it.
There are so many different greeting combinations you can make with the Greetings of the Season stamps. You could even make a card very similar to this adorably easy last minute card for Santa using this same DSP and stamps!
Craft a Few to Start Your Christmas Pile
Whether you’re in the “I’ve already got half my cards done” group or the same camp as me (“Oh I’ve got tons of time!), this card is one you can make with whatever paper. stamps and dies you already have.
