Who needs to make complicated cards when you can make this clean and simple card for Fathers Day?!

The key is bold images and crisp colour contrasts!

And although this is a Father’s Day card, just change up the greeting and it can work for an anytime card for any fella.

Dads like trucks right? Well, MOST dads like trucks!

And they usually really like something simple over more intricate.

So focus on a clean and simple design to showcase a wonderful stamp and punch in a bold colour combo! Your dad will love it!

Clean and Simple Card for Fathers Day

Here’s what you need to recreate this card!

Cuttin’ It Up!

• Basic Black – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4”
• Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″, scrap

Let’s Make It!

1. Burnish the fold with your bone folder and fold the card. Place the largest Stylish Shapes square die so it is angled on the card front. Open the card and run through the Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine. Keep the square for another card. Fold the card shut.
2. Place the Basic White inside (do not adhere yet) and stamp greeting with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. If you’re happy with the stamping, glue to the inside of the card.
3. Stamp the truck. TIP: stamp the outline image first with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then stamp the truck solid image in your choice of colour, then the wheels in Pebbled Path ink.
4. Punch out the truck with the Truck Builder punch. Turn over and add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.
5. Here’s the little trick. Place the truck beneath and slightly to the right of the greeting. Ink up the shadow lines stamp with Pebbled Path ink and “eyeball” the placement so it will be beneath the wheels. Remove the truck image and stamp. IF YOU HAPPEN TO NOT STAMP in the correct spot, no worries! Simply re-ink the lines and stamp them again. (I stamped mine two times as I was too high the first time.)
6. Adhere the truck over the lines.
7. Add three rhinestone gems in 3 different sizes to the bottom right of the cut out square as shown.

Take a wander through your own set of stamps and punches or dies to make your own card like this. What other images might you want to consider? How about wildlife ones? Maybe other vehicles like planes or trains? Or perhaps your dad is a western buff so horses and boots might work best.

No matter what you choose, just try to keep the images a little bit smaller so they’ll completely fit in the square cut out shape.
