Use a Layout for Card Making
Picture this: You’re at your crafting station, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of papers, stamps, and embellishments! You’re ready to get started on your card making escapade. But where to begin?
That’s where layouts swoop in to save the day!
These nifty blueprints are like treasure maps guiding you through the crafting jungle, ensuring your final creation is nothing short of spectacular!
Today’s sketch is an easy one. Your whole goal (and challenge?) is to create with just a few simple tools: your dies and a sentiment stamp. Plus if you have another stamp or die (like the Stitched with Whimsy set) add a few fun details in behind the die cuts for some visual interest.

It’s amazing how that tiny little oval of Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cardstock fully complete the cup! It really does look like a cup of joe!
How to Give This Layout a Try!

How do you start to copy this layout?
Pull out your own dies and see what little ones you have that will work perfectly with this layout.
Adding a little flower petal or a birthday cake would be precious. Or how about a cute little critter to add some personality to your design?
Dig through your stamps and find one about the same size as the greeting I used here. And if you don’t have a die like the Stitched with Whimsy that only “cuts” into the cardstock and doesn’t cut OUT the cardstock, you probably have a fun background stamp that will make it look similar.
Then decide on your colour choices and play!
There are so many options!
And once you start to use a layout for card making, I bet you’ll be hooked for life!
