5 Tips to Save Time Card Making
Although you probably have all kinds of hints and tricks for your paper crafting, these five are specifically going to help you save TIME!
1. Use a Sketch
A sketch is always the BEST way to achieve stunning results in half the time! Copy it completely or change out a few elements and you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic design using your own supplies in record card making time!

2. Pre-cut Your Cardstock Bases and Mats
Grab your paper cutter and get cutting in front of your TV! It’s the perfect time to cut up some card bases and mats in colours you most often use!
For me, I have every single colour of our 52 card stocks cut this way. Yes I have more of some colours than others, but I always have a supply of the basics like Basic White, Black and now Basic Beige and Very Vanilla.
3. Keep Your Most Often Used Supplies Close at Hand
What supplies do YOU use the most? Your Paper Snips, trimmer, adhesives, bone folder and Take Your Pick probably come to mind immediately. But what about your clear blocks, embellishments, embossing folders and dies?
You may not need to have ALL of them out at one time, but maybe the spring coloured ones for right now? Or say you’re going to be working on birthday cards? When you have all those cheery and colourful bits within reach, it’s amazing how quick you can be!
4. Organize Your Stamps and Dies by Theme
This is admittedly a very personal thing. But I’ve heard lots of folks say alphabetical is the way to go. And that’s great if it means you can grab things in an instant.
For me though, I organize first by theme, then alphabetically. So if I’m creating for a sympathy card, I will most often look through my floral stamps and dies. It save me looking through the Christmas or kid themed supplies.
5. Use Designer Series Papers (DSP)
Whenever you can add background accents without doing any work yourself, that’s a win! The patterned papers available now are stunning! Ones like Meandering Meadow or Thoughtful Journey make crafting a whiz! Even a fast flap fold card can be created in a fraction of the time!
